Strike ProRail

No train traffic to, from and in the north and east of NL Friday morning November 22nd

On Friday 22 November, ProRail employees will strike at traffic posts in Groningen, Zwolle and Arnhem. As a result, no trains will be running in the north and east of the Netherlands on Friday morning until 09:00. This will hinder many travellers.

Consequences for the rest of the Netherlands

In some parts of the Netherlands, the trains will run much less frequently. The international trains from Germany through Arnhem will also be cancelled during the strike. The ICE Berlin won't ride during the strike.

Train traffic will resume at 09:00

The regular timetable will be resumed from 09:00 on. Take into account delays and crowds for the remainder of the morning. Keep an eye on current information via the 9292 planner or the 9292 app.

What?

ProRail employees are going on a strike. This could have many consequences for train traffic, because ProRail employs traffic controllers (among other things). These traffic controllers provide the daily coordination of train traffic. A strike could therefore cause large parts of train traffic to come to a temporary standstill.

Why?

Trade union FNV demands a salary increase. ProRail finds the FNV proposal unrealistic. Through the various strikes, FNV hopes to achieve a larger salary increase.

Actual situation in the Netherlands

The 9292 planner is continuously updated with information from the public transport companies and automatically provides alternative travel advice where possible with public transport that does run (on the day of with disruptions).
