The driver of your bus, train, tram, metro or ferry will stop their vehicle when and where it is safe to do so. If you are at a station then you will be asked for 2 minutes of silence.
On May 5th we celebrate the fact that we live in freedom. The National Committee helps determine how meaning is given to commemorating and celebrating, and how the memory of the Second World War is kept alive. To celebrate out freedom, every year, no less than 14 Liberation Festivals are organized on May 5th: in every province and in the capital Amsterdam and the court city of The Hague.
