Travel to Aachen or Liège with a 9292 e-ticket
Visiting our neighbours to the east or south? With the 'Drielandentrein', also known as the 'Three-Country Train', you can easily travel to our neighbours in Germany and Belgium.
One e-ticket for three countries
Since 30 June 2024, Arriva operates a train service between Aachen (Aken), Heerlen, Maastricht, and Liège (Luik). You can purchase an e-ticket in the 9292 app to travel between these cities.
Please note - You can only travel on this train with an e-ticket. Payment by debit card (OVpay) or OV-chipkaart is not possible.
How to purchase an e-ticket for the 'Three-Country Train'
You will need an e-ticket to travel on the 'Drielandentrein', also known as the 'Three-Country Train'. Below, you will find instructions on how to purchase an e-ticket in the 9292 app.
You can purchase an e-ticket in 3 simple steps:
Plan your journey in the 9292 app by entering your start and end point.
Tap on your preferred travel advice out of the options given in the app. Then, tap on 'Buy e-tickets'.
Follow the steps on the screen.
Have you paid? You can find your e-ticket(s) under 'My e-tickets' in the menu on the top left of the home screen.
