Are you using the 9292 app and there's something you don't understand? How does the app work?

App settings

The app uses the language settings of your phone. Is your mobile set to a language other than Dutch? Then the 9292 app is set to English by default.

Would you like the text in the app to be in Dutch? Click on 'Settings' in the menu at the top left, and click on 'Change language'. Then, indicate that you would like the app to be in Dutch.

Is this not possible? Then set the language of your mobile to Dutch. You can do this via the settings of your mobile.

Do you want to know more about the app settings? Like how to set up your favourite routes? Or how you can set the maximum walking distance? We explain it all on our information page about the 9292 app.

Planning your journey

The 9292 app is not allowed to use your phone's GPS data without permission. You must give permission for this yourself. If you give permission, the 9292 app will receive your location. This way, the travel planner can easily plan a trip from your current location.

If you do not give permission for the use of your location within the 9292 app, the app will not be able to find out where you are. You will then have to enter your starting location yourself in the departure field.

The 9292 app uses this information to plan your journey from your current location. We do not use this information for other purposes. It is not saved or stored.

This allows you to plan an accessible journey. This is convenient if you have difficulty walking, are a wheelchair user, are blind or visually impaired, or if you are deaf or hard of hearing.

The planner will take the accessibility of your journey into account. For example, it will add extra time for a transfer. You will also travel via stops and stations that are marked as accessible.

All information about accessible travel with public transport.

Did you activate the option 'Walk less'? Then the planner will look for a route from the stop that is closest to the starting point, and to the stop that is closest to the destination.

This way, you reduce the walking distance from the departure point to the departure stop, and from the final stop to the destination.

As a result, it may take you longer to travel to your destination, or you may have to transfer more often than you would if you did not use this feature.

In the 9292 planner, your journey typically starts and ends with a bit of walking from the starting location to the stop/station, and then from the stop/station to the final destination.

Are you starting your journey by bike? Then the planner determines a point where you can cycle to and then transfer to public transport. It takes into account:

  • The need for secure bike parking at the point where you transfer to public transport.

  • A maximum cycling distance of 5 kilometers.

  • The planner plans the quickest possible route, with as few transfers as possible.

This may mean that the route of your journey is different when you start or end by bike compared to when you choose to walk.

No, when planning your journey with the 9292 planner, it does not account for the possibility of taking your bike on public transport.

On many buses, bikes are not allowed. On most trains, bikes are allowed, but you do need a special train ticket for it. Read all about taking your bike on public transport here.
