Public transport in and around Rotterdam
Apart from trams, busses and metros, Rotterdam has a unique public transport system to discover the city. Travelling on water is of course indispensable in the biggest harbour of the Netherlands.
Rotterdam, the modern city
Whether you visit the remarkable architecture of the city by day, go shopping, or enjoy the city by night, the public transport brings you there.
Kinderdijk and more
Grab the unique chance to watch the harbour from the water. With the Waterbus, for example, you can buy a hop-on-hop-off day pass, with which you can visit the Kinderdijk and the Euromast, among other things. There are two coupons included with the day pass that will give you a choice of a variety of discounts. This pass is available on the boat or at water bus sale points. It costs € 12.50 for adults and € 9.00 for children (4 to 11 years) and the elderly (65+).
You can also pay for your journey by OV-chipkaart. We advice tourists to use an anonymous OV-chipkaart, which can be purchased for € 7.50 from any station, from any kiosk at a station, and from many supermarkets. You can then use the card immediately.
