Public transport in and around Maastricht
In the south of the Netherlands you’ll find the beautiful city of Maastricht. A Burgundian city brimming with history, art and culture.
When you step out of the train you’ll automatically enter the city centre. The surroundings of Maastricht are easy to reach with the public transport. The busses and regional taxis connect well to the train network.
With the OV tour pass you are free to travel anywhere across Southern Limburg for 2 days with all Veolia busses. You can also visit Aachen by bus on the route of Maastricht-Vaals-Aachen. The OV tour pass costs € 9.95, which includes free travel for up to two children (4 to 11 years). You can buy the pass at the Limburg stores of VVV (tourist information) Zuid-Limburg and at the Veolia service points.
You can also pay for your journey by OV-chipkaart. We advice tourists to use an anonymous OV-chipkaart, which can be purchased for € 7.50 from any station, from any kiosk at a station, and from many supermarkets. You can then use the card immediately.
