Temporary free public transport for children in Den Haag (The Hague)

Children aged 4 to 11 who are registered with the municipality of Den Haag (The Hague) can apply for a free public transport card. This card is valid in buses and trams of public transport operator HTM.

Children aged 4 to 11 who are registered with the municipality of Den Haag (The Hague) can travel for free with the 'Kids voor Niks' OV-chipkaart. This OV-chipkaart can be requested for free on the website of Gemeente Den Haag (Dutch only). It is valid from the moment of application until the end of 2026. The card can be applied for from March 10, 2025.

Turning 4 or 12 during the promotion period?

Is your child turning 4 during the promotion period? Then they can apply for the 'Kids voor Niks' OV-chipkaart when they turn 4, until the end of 2026.

Is your child turning 12 during the promotion period? From that moment, the card will no longer provide free travel. However, the OV-chipkaart can still be used by adding balance like a regular OV-chipkaart.
