This year marks the 89th edition of Sneekweek. Whether you are going to party, watch the sailing boats, or attend the PC Kaatsen; Sneek will be a popular destination from 31 July to 6 August.

Travelling to Sneek by train

Are you travelling from outside Sneek? The train will take you to Sneek station.

Take the Sneekermeerbuzz to Starteiland

From 31 July to 6 August, the Sneekermeerbuzz runs between Sneek station and Starteiland. Simply check in and out using your debit card, mobile phone, or credit card.

Children aged 11 and under travel free with an adult, with a maximum of three children per adult.

The Sneekermeerbuzz stops at the following stops:

  • Sneek Prins Hendrikkade*

  • Sneek Truffelsteeg

  • Sneek 1e Oosterkade

  • Sneek Boeierstraat

  • Sneek Middelzeelaan

  • Sneek De Domp

  • Offingawier Fiifgeawei

  • Offingawier Camping De Potten

  • Offingawier Paviljoen

  • Offingawier Pont (Starteiland)

* After 7:00 p.m., the bus will not stop at Busstation or Prins Hendrikkade because of events in the city centre.

Cycling to Starteiland

You can also cycle from Sneek station to the Sneekermeer. Follow the scenic Grienedyk walking and cycling route to the Paviljoen. The journey takes about 20 minutes. From there, take the ferry to Starteiland. Park your bike in the designated bicycle parking spaces or racks near the ferry departure point.

Do you not have a bike in Sneek yourself? You can rent a shared bike. The 9292 app shows the shared bikes available near you .

The ferry runs from 1 to 6 August and is called the Poieszboot. It departs from 1e Oosterkade. Visit the Sneekweek website for more information (Dutch only) .

PC Kaatsen

The PC Kaatsen is the most important and oldest kaatsen tournament in Fryslân. Kaatsen is a traditional Frisian ball game. Sixteen teams compete against each other during the event. This year, the PC Kaatsen takes place on 29 July at the Sjûkelân in Franeker.

Four additional bus services will operate especially for the PC Kaatsen: 891, 892, 893, and 894.
