Trade union FNV announces nationwide public transport strike on Wednesday 24 June

On Wednesday 24 June, train, bus, tram, and metro employees will be striking in the early morning hours. Public transport will not start running until 8:00 a.m.

Why is this temporary strike happening?

The trade union is protesting against the cabinet's plans to cut funds on social security and pensions. The FNV states that the strike applies not only to public transport employees, but to everyone in the Netherlands.
