Take the free bus to Bloemendaal or Zandvoort

Want to enjoy a carefree day at the Dutch coast this summer? Park your car for free at EXPO Greater Amsterdam in Vijfhuizen and take the free Strandbus to Bloemendaal or Zandvoort.

Save time, money and avoid searching for a parking space. From 20 June to 16 August and on 29 and 30 August, the Strandbus runs every Saturday and Sunday.

How to travel for free with the Strandbus?

The Strandbus is a regular Connexxion bus service. The bus line number is 341 and the destination display shows 'Strandbus'.

How it works:

  1. Park your car for free at EXPO Greater Amsterdam on Saturday or Sunday.

  2. Walk to the 'EXPO Greater Amsterdam' bus stop.

  3. Board the Strandbus and check in using your debit card or OV-pas ( OVpay ).

    Check out when you arrive at the beach.

Children aged 4 to 11 receive a free bus ticket from the driver. They do not need to check in or check out.

Please note If you travel using an OV-chipkaart, the journey is not free. Use OVpay or your debit card to check in and check out.

How often does the Strandbus run?

The Strandbus runs every Saturday and Sunday from 20 June to 16 August and on 29 and 30 August. Buses run four times per hour.

The first bus departs from Spaarne Gasthuis in Hoofddorp at 09:10 and arrives at EXPO Greater Amsterdam at 09:17.

The last bus departs from Passage in Zandvoort at 22:04 and arrives at EXPO Greater Amsterdam at 22:36.

The Strandbus is the same size as a regular bus service. You can bring a folded umbrella and a beach bag, but there is no space for beach chairs on board.

The EXPO Greater Amsterdam park and ride facility is open from 08:30 to 23:00. You do not need to reserve a parking space.

Follow the yellow signs for the Strandbus once you arrive at the parking area.
