Purchasing e-tickets
You can purchase an e-ticket in 3 simple steps:
Plan your journey in the 9292 app by entering your start and end point.
Tap on your preferred travel advice out of the options given in the app. Then, tap on 'Buy e-tickets'.
Follow the steps on the screen.
Have you paid? You can find your e-ticket(s) under 'My e-tickets' in the menu on the top left of the home screen.
Have you paid for your e-ticket? You can find your e-ticket(s) under ‘My e-tickets' in the menu at the top left of the home screen.
Bus, tram, and metro tickets become valid 15 minutes before the planned journey. At this point, it will change into a ticket with a barcode or visual element, which you can use to check in. From then on, you can travel with the ticket.
Yes, that is possible. You can buy your e-ticket a few days before your departure. Please make sure that the time and date of your journey are correct.

How e-tickets work differs per type of public transport operator.
Bus, tram, and metro tickets
You can purchase a bus and tram ticket for a specific journey. Some operators also offer hourly tickets.
Journey tickets – Journey tickets are valid for the specific journey at a specific date and time.
Hourly tickets – Hourly tickets are valid for 1 hour. The hour starts from the moment your planned journey will depart. The ticket states for which times your ticket is valid.
Your hourly ticket and ride ticket become valid 15 minutes before the planned journey. At this point, it will change into a ticket with a barcode or visual element, which you can use to check in. From then on, you can travel with the ticket.
Train tickets
NS train tickets
Did you purchase a 9292 e-ticket for the NS train (based on your travel advice)? Then you have one of the following two tickets:
Full fare ticket – Are you travelling on a weekday during peak hour?* Then you need to purchase a full fare ticket. This ticket is valid all day on the day and route stated on the ticket. The time of travel does not matter.
Off-peak fare tickets – Are you travelling on the weekend? Or during the week during off-peak hours?** Then you should purchase an off-peak fare ticket. This ticket is valid all day on the weekend and on public holidays on the day and route stated on the ticket. On weekdays, you can use the ticket all day during off-peak hours, on the day and route stated on the ticket. You are not allowed to travel with this ticket during rush hour.
*Peak hours is on weekdays from 6:30 to 9:00 and from 16:00 to 18:30.
** Off-peak hours are all day on weekends and public holidays, and on weekdays before 6:30, from 9:00 to 16:00 and after 18:30.
Train tickets from other operators
Your ticket is valid all day on the route and day you have chosen.
Paying for e-tickets
You can pay with:
iDEAL
Apple Pay and Google Pay
Creditcard: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
The e-ticket remains in the app, even after use. You can find it in the menu under My e-tickets > Expired.
You will also receive a confirmation email if you have purchased an e-ticket. This also contains the payment confirmation. You can use this to declare for expenses afterwards.
Please note – This email is not a valid ticket.
Using e-tickets
Have you paid for your e-ticket? You can find your e-ticket(s) under ‘My e-tickets' in the menu at the top left of the home screen.

Yes, you need an internet connection to buy an e-ticket in the 9292 app. You also need an internet connection to use the e-ticket.
The tickets are only valid on the phone on which they were purchased. You cannot forward the e-tickets to another phone.
Your hourly ticket and ride ticket become valid 15 minutes before the planned journey. At this point, it will change into a ticket with a barcode or visual element, which you can use to check in. From then on, you can travel with the ticket.
Scan the barcode or QR code of the e-ticket to open the gate. Hold the barcode in front of the card reader on the gate. This is on the right-hand side. You will hear 1 beep when the gate opens.
Did you buy an e-ticket for multiple people? Then you will receive a separate e-ticket with a unique barcode or QR code per person. You can open the gate for each traveller using their unique barcode or QR code. You may only walk through the gates with one person at a time.
Please note – The tickets can only be used on the phone on which they were purchased. You cannot forward the e-tickets to another phone.
Train
Your e-ticket is valid at the times indicated on the ticket. You do not need to check in or out if you have an e-ticket for the train. Make sure you are able to show your ticket in case of a ticket inspection.
Do you have to go through a gate to enter the station? Scan the barcode or QR code of the e-ticket to open the gate. Hold the barcode in front of the card reader on the gate. This is on the right-hand side. You will hear 1 beep when the gate opens.
Please note – does the gate not open when you scan your QR code? This may be because your e-ticket is not valid at that time. For example, because the ticket is valid on a different date, or it is an off-peak ticket and you scan the ticket during peak hour.
Bus, tram, and metro
Whether you have to check in or not depends on the operator and the ticket you are travelling with. Do you have to check in? For example, because you have to open a gate? Then hold the barcode or QR code in front of the scanner.
Are you unable to scan the e-ticket? Then show the ticket to the bus or tram driver. Then they will know that you have a valid ticket.
Please note – E-tickets are only valid on the day and time for which you purchased the e-ticket. Your hourly ticket and ride ticket become valid 15 minutes before the planned journey. At this point, it will change into a ticket with a barcode or visual element, which you can use to check in. From then on, you can travel with the ticket.
You must check out with your 9292 e-ticket at the train station on the same day that you want to leave the parking garage.
Drive to the barrier at the exit of the P+R (Park & Ride).
Open the 9292 app and go to the e-ticket that you used on the same day (and that you checked out with).
Hold the QR code of your e-ticket in front of the reader of the machine. The discount will be calculated automatically.
Pay with your bank card.
The barrier will open and you can leave. You can have a receipt printed.
