What to do if you lost your OV-chipkaart or if you want to change your personal details? What in case you forgot to check out? How to cancel a personal or anonymous OV-chipkaart?

My personal OV-chipkaart is not working, or I want to change my personal details?

Download the form ‘Aanvraag vervangende kaart’ (apply for replacement card) from the OV-chipkaart's website. If you have a travel product on your card, please pass on the changes to your public transport company too.


I have lost my personal OV-chipkaart or it is stolen

Please contact Klantenservice OV-chipkaart as soon as possible (0900 0980, € 0.10 per minute)

I wish to cancel a personal or anonymous OV-chipkaart

Use of the forms you can find on OV-chipkaart's website. If you have a travel product on your personal OV-chipkaart, you first need to contact the public transport company concerned. If your card has a balance of more than 0 Euro, they will pay that amount into your bank/giro account. There is no handling fee.


I want a refund in case you forgot to check out

The public transport companies have their own rules and most have a restitution form on their website.

Picking up or sending off
For picking up or sending off behind the gates you check in and out. When there is no more than 30 minutes between checking in and out, nothing will be charged to your OV-chipkaart account.


Are my personal and travelling details safe?

If you have a personal OV-chipkaart your name, address, card number and any other contact details like your phone number, e-mail address and bank account number are saved at Trans Link Systems (TLS). For more information please check OV-chipkaart's website.
